About The Asbestos Material:Asbestos
occurs naturally in the environment and is actually a group of minerals.
Because of its resistance to heat and corrosion, asbestos was used
extensively in the manufacturing industry--especially in the building
and automotive trades--until its health hazards were discovered. Gaskets
make a joint--or two matching machine parts--tight, preventing the
leakage of gas or fluid.
Description:Asbestos
gasket can be used for most medium specification applications. It can be
used for sealing against steam, air, gases, water, oils, hydraulics and
non-aggressive media. This kind of gasket can also be used for high
pressures.Sometimes,we can insert some reinforced material.Such as
graphie,metal wire,tanged sheet.
In fact, this asbestos gasket are compressd
with rubber material to be a sheet. The sealing property is partly based
on the rubber material.
NBR - good for oils, gas, mild chemicals and water
SBR - good for saturated Steam, mild chemicals inert gas and water
Neoprene - good for saturated steam, refrigerants, oils, fuels, mild
acids and alkalies and water.
EPDM - good for saturated steam, mild chemicals and water
Different grade of asbestos gaskets are
including:
Low Pressure Asbestos Gasket(ZD-G1331):It
is made from white chrysotile fibre. It is suitable for the
sealing condition of most low temperature and low pressure. It is used to
seal steam, water power, gas plant, oil and other neutral medium.
Medium Pressure Asbestos Gasket(ZD-G1332):It
is used to seal steam, water power, gas plant, oil and other neutral
medium.
High Pressure Asbestos Gasket(ZD-G1333):It
is used to seal steam, water power, gas plant, oil and other neutral
medium.
Oil Proof Asbestos Gasket(ZD-G1334):It
is used to seal steam, water power, gas plant, oil and other neutral
medium.
Application of Asbestos Rubber Gasket:It
is used in flange or equipment in the chemical plant, electric power
plant,paper factory,oil refining,pharmaceutical factory,food
industry,mechanical manufacturing,ect.

How to Recognize Asbestos Gaskets:
Asbestos was used for several different products in the
past because of its insulation and fire-resistant nature. The health
risks of asbestos became apparent as people started reporting it as the
cause of several severe illnesses. The government now requires that any
products that contain asbestos must be labeled and used infrequently.
Recognition of asbestos-containing products, such as gaskets, is a vital
step to replacing them with non-asbestos alternatives.
Instructions:
1.Put on protective clothing and breathing equipment to
avoid unnecessary contact with asbestos. Wet the area that contains, or
is believed to contain, asbestos. This will help to prevent the asbestos
fibers from becoming airborne.
2.Locate the area of the gasket and note the color.
Gaskets that contain asbestos are colored white, black or dark gray. The
gasket will also have a fibrous texture to it. If you are looking for a
gasket in a machine or appliance, do not rely on the manufactured date
that is printed on it, as it may have had maintenance or service work
where the gasket was changed.
3.Replace the gasket with a non-asbestos one. These kinds
of gaskets are blue, green or metallic in color
4.Take care to collect and properly dispose of asbestos
waste, debris and equipment used around the asbestos, and any clothing
that you wore while in contact with asbestos fibers. Double-bag any
waste in distinctly colored containers for quick identification.
